Tomintoul is on the Glenlivet Estate, part of the Crown Estates, and is within the Cairngorms National Park. The A939 passes through the village, providing access from Grantown-on-Spey to Ballater. Glenlivet, known for its distillery, is seven miles north of Tomintoul. The hotel is near landmarks such as the Tomintoul and Glenlivet Discovery Centre (0.3 km), Glenlivet and the Cairngorms (0.5 km), and the Tomintoul Art Gallery (0.3 km).
